For the March camping trip, Troop 3 visited Resica Falls Scout Reservation and stayed in Bear Lodge.
It was our first time staying in one of the modern lodges at Resica. Bear Lodge had 3 youth bedrooms, a leader bedroom, a kitchen with gas cooking & fridge, indoor bathrooms, a gas fireplace, and lots of activity space. We went the weekend following some really bad storms and the campmasters kept the lights on for us thanks to a generator. Other than the hum, you wouldn’t have known anything was out of the ordinary.
The scouts got to participate in the fish restocking and threw buckets of fish into the water so later in the season people can enjoy fishing these waters.
There was also an intense gaga match with other scouts spending the weekend at Resica Falls.
